Our Story
I have been wokring with horses my entire life. Growing up with a riding school right behind my childhood home, I used to jump the fence to be with the horses... barefoot and in only a diaper. When the owner of the riding school approached my parents about the issue and asked if they could help me be safe around horses, I instantly found my other family.
I have experience in all things horse; including trail riding, cattle sorting, pleasure riding, starting and training yearlings, untouched mustangs, and my passion, dressage. I found my first dance partner on KSL as a four year old, with no training, for no more then a few hundred dollars. She was just as rough and unpolished as I was.We faced many challenges as we were forced to learn together.
Although this is not what I would recommend for beginners, I would not change anything about my past experience.
I have been taking regular lessons/outside instruction for almost fifteen years.
With the last three years focusing heavily in dressage.
I still currently participate in weekly lessons on an FEI schoolmaster, whom I feel very fortunate to learn from. I have experience in many things outside of horses including mental and physical health. With a background in nutrition and physiology, I trained and competed in Body Building. Where I successfully practiced my knowledge of food/nutrition and effectively demonstrated my ability to be consistent and discplined. I learned how important REAL food is for our brains and our body's to perform at its best. I also learned the important of emotional regulation and bringing awareness not just to my physical body, but to my mental and emotional wellbeing. Through my life experiences, I have learned how important it is to tend to our physical and emotional needs. When it comes to working with horses, this is important because our horses look to us. If we don't have control over ourselves, our emotions we will never have a successful relationship. The art of horsemanship starts with self mastery.
